What You'll Need

Basic socket set
Screwdrivers (flat & phillips)
Wire cutters & strippers
Soldering iron & solder
Electrical crimps
Heat shrink tubing
Heat gun or lighter
Multimeter (optional)

Before You Start

⚠️ DISCONNECT YOUR BATTERYAlways disconnect the negative terminal of your battery before beginning. This prevents shorts and protects both you and the vehicle's electronics.
📦 CHECK YOUR BOXUnbox your headlights and check everything is included — headlight assemblies, wiring harnesses, H4 adapters, RGB control boxes, and for Toyota owners, the CAN bus modules.
🚗 TOYOTA MODELS — CAN BUS MODULES REQUIREDAll Toyota models require the supplied CAN bus modules. Toyotas use a negative-switched system and the modules correct this to prevent flickering and warning lights. Nissan owners generally don't need them unless experiencing dash error codes.
⚠️ REMOVING INDICATOR BULBS — LOAD RESISTORS REQUIREDIf you are removing the factory indicator bulbs as part of this install, you must wire a load resistor in parallel on each indicator circuit. Without it, the flasher relay will detect a missing bulb and cause the indicators to hyperflash.

Understanding the Wiring

Your LINEM headlights come with three separate wiring circuits. Read through these before starting so you understand what connects where.

① Low & High Beam

Route:
Custom headlight → H4 adapter → CAN bus module (Toyota only) → Factory loom
Notes:
Plugs directly into your factory H4 3-pin headlight plug. No cutting required.

② Shroud RGB Control Box (Braided Loom)

Route:
Custom headlight → RGB control box → Battery or switch
Power:
Red (+) and black (−) connect to battery or a switched source. Use a 7.5A fuse on the positive wire.
White wire:
DRL input — splice into factory DRL/parklight positive wire (optional but recommended)
Green & blue wires:
Indicator inputs — one wire per headlight, not left/right specific. The blue wire is longer, so if the control box is mounted on the left side of the vehicle, run the blue wire across to the right indicator and the green to the left, and vice versa. Splice each into the factory indicator positive wire on the corresponding side (optional but recommended).

③ LED Lamp RGB Control Box (Small Black Wire)

Route:
Custom headlight → RGB control box → Battery or switch
Power:
Red (+) and black (−) connect to battery or a switched source. Use a 7.5A fuse on the positive wire.
Tip:
We recommend splicing the red and black wires from both control boxes together and running a single fused positive and negative to keep the install clean and simple.

Installation Steps

  1. Disconnect the battery. Remove the negative terminal and set it aside. Do not skip this step.

  2. Remove the factory headlights. Locate and remove all mounting bolts holding the headlight in place. Depending on your model, this may require removing grille clips or bumper trim to access the mounting points.

  3. Unplug the factory wiring. Disconnect the H4 3-pin headlight plugs from the back of the factory headlights — these simply push in and pull out.

  4. Toyota only — install CAN bus modules. Plug the CAN bus modules inline between the H4 adapter and your factory loom. One module per side. This is required on all Toyota models.

  5. Connect the low/high beam loom. Plug the H4 adapter into your factory loom. The headlight end plugs directly into the custom headlight assembly.

  6. Route and connect the Shroud RGB control box loom. Route the braided loom neatly through the engine bay. Connect red (+) and black (−) to the battery or a switched source with a 7.5A fuse on the positive. Optionally splice the white wire into the factory DRL/parklight positive. For the indicator wires, run the longer blue wire across to the opposite side indicator from where the control box is mounted, and the green wire to the nearest side.

  7. Route and connect the LED Lamp RGB control box loom. Run the small black wire from the headlight to the control box. Connect red (+) and black (−) to power with a 7.5A fuse — we recommend splicing these together with the Shroud control box wires for a cleaner install.

  8. Load resistors — if removing indicator bulbs. If you have removed the factory indicator bulbs, wire a load resistor in parallel on each indicator circuit to prevent hyperflashing.

  9. Insulate all joins. Any spliced or joined wire must be properly insulated — use heat shrink or electrical tape. Make sure no bare wire is exposed.

  10. Mount the headlights. Fit the LINEM headlights into position and secure with the original mounting bolts. Do not overtighten.

  11. Reconnect the battery and test. Reconnect the negative terminal and power on. Test low beam, high beam, DRL, and indicators to confirm everything works correctly before closing up.

  12. Set up the Bluetooth control boxes. Your headlights include two Bluetooth control boxes. Scan both to download the two apps used to control your headlight lighting functions. Pair each app to its respective control box.

  13. Aim your headlights. Check your beam alignment. If adjustment is needed, use the adjuster screws on the back of the headlight housing. Ensure your beams are not blinding oncoming traffic.
